Hi all, I'm looking to start throwing (steel tip) again. I'm looking for some good opinions on places to play.

Also, how do the blind draws work? Is there typically a fee to play?

Thanks,

-Roger

I fairly regularly play both the Cain & Abel's and Crown & Anchor blind draws.

The Cain & Abel's draw is $4 (plus $1 if you want to buy in for high dart) and the bar does match. Each match is a best 2 out of 3 with 501SD, Cricket and diddlers choice.

The Crown & Anchor draw is $3 (bar matches $3). Each match is best 2 out of 3 of Cricket, with "friendly" point rules (no pointing on purpose unless behind in points).

As far as the quality of the dart venues in town - I'd encourage you to try them out for yourself but can provide some guidance for venues I'm at somewhat frequently:

- Multiple dart boards - Crown & Anchor, Shenanigans, Opal Divines, 300 Austin, The Grand
- Multiple board but often crowded - Gingerman, Mother Egans, Cain & Abel's, Draught House

Check out the Dart Map function and depending on where you live start hitting some places until you find what you are looking for.

Thanks for the great advice! That dart map is a pretty handy feature. I'll start with the places you suggested first, then I'll work my way around to the others on the map.

Do you know if any "Austiners" are going to be at the tourney in Houston this weekend? I'm hoping to stop in and check it out.
